Reseller and channel partnerships for SaaS: a practical guide

Resellers sell your product to customers you may never meet. Channel partners bundle it into a broader offer. Implementation partners get customers live. All three decide whether to work with you based on the same thing: whether your fit, proof and terms are clear. Here is how to make them clear.

Know which partner you actually want

A reseller needs margin and a product that fits its existing customers. A channel partner needs a reason your product belongs in its bundle. An implementation partner needs services revenue and a product that is safe to recommend. Choose deliberately; each asks different questions of your B2B ID.

Publish the fit they need to see

Your ideal customer profile tells a reseller whether it already sells to those companies. Your integrations tell a channel partner whether you belong in its stack. Your proof tells an implementation partner whether recommending you is safe. Fill those fields as if a partner were reading, because one will be.

State the partnership on your B2B ID

Set "looking for" to the partner types you are open to. Partners that fit can send a Request Partnership with context; you accept or decline. This replaces the inbox full of unqualified "partner program" enquiries.

Only offer what you can support

Resellers need enablement, deal registration and someone to call. Implementation partners need documentation and a technical contact. If you cannot support a partner type yet, do not list it — state the ones you can and add the others when you are ready.

Agree terms directly

Margins, territories, deal registration, referral fees and support obligations are agreed between you and the partner. B2B.ID is where the right partner finds you and where the conversation starts with context — not a marketplace that sets the terms.
